As required by Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre (HMCC in brief) cooperated with concerning provincial departments and bodies to co-compile the "Management Plan of the Complex of Hue Monuments until 2020, vision to 2030" (MP in brief) as suggested by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee towards Vietnam-a State Party- and Thua Thien Hue government aiming at building a management plan and action plans for the suitable and sustainable preservation of Hue heritage's Outstanding Universal Values.
The compilation of HMP 2030 has been well implemented for a long time under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture-Sports-Tourism, the Department of Cultural Heritage, Vietnam UNESCO National Committee, UNESCO Office in Hanoi, the National Cultural Heritage Council, and with the consultation of different authorities of Thua Thien Hue Province, the domestic as well as international experts, especially the participation of Prof. William Logan from ICOMOS (The International Council for Monuments and Sites) who was recommended by the UNESCO Office in Hanoi for the technical assistance. On June 09, 2015, the HM was approved on the Decision No. 1057/QĐ-UBND by the Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, and was submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage Center.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dung assigned HMCC to be the main coordinator with concerning parties to deal with the 11 focal taks of MP that will be completed by 2020.
In a word, the MP is a good legal basis for Thua Thien Hue Province and concerning parties to well implement Hue heritage preservation and enhancement, ensure the local socio-economic development, and keep the integrity and authenticity of Hue heritage's Outstanding Universal Values.
