Xa Tac Sacrifice is one of the typical royal ceremonies that deeply reflects the identities of the Vietnamese water paddy-agriculture. From such dynasties as Dinh, Ly, Tran, Le and Nguyen, the Xa Tac Sacrifice was annually organized in Lunar February and August to honor the national agriculture and wish for the great peace as well as harmonious weather-productive crop-prosperous inhabitant. Despite the historical impact, Hue ancient capital still keeps Xa Tac esplanade intact. From 2008 to nơ, Xa Tac sacrifice has been rehabilitated and drawn much appreciation and concern from the local inhabitants.
This year, agreed by Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Hue Monuments Conservation Center will carry out Xa Tac Sacrifice in 01 AM of March 18th 2014 (Lunar February 18th, Giap Ngo) at Xa Tac esplanade (Thuan Hoa precinct, Hue City).
